More images from a boondoggle of a trip to Basel. The view from the Beyeler to the bucolic Swiss hills, the Beyeler, and fall foliage on the Beyeler exterior.

The building has held up quite well. For years I was skeptical of Renzo Piano—something too light and serene and nice about his work—but visiting the Beyeler and then the Menil and Cy Twombly Gallery in Houston shortly after won me over.
